The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issues weekly updates regarding vehicles that have been recalled for safety issues. Bestride.com forwards the major (over 100,000-units) recalls directly to you, free of charge. So, what do you do if you think that your automobile is currently under a NHTSA recall? First of all; if you have a mechanical or electrical problem that puts your safety or the safety of others at risk, by all means have it checked by a qualified mechanic. For anything other than a safety issue, you may choose to just wait for the notification letter, call the service department of your local dealership, or visit the NHTSA website and do a vehicle identification search. After that, just follow directions until the problem is rectified.
